Welcome future Particle Image Velociraptors! On this website you can learn how to build an economical particle image velocimetry instrument for visualizing and measuring fluid flows. Building this system takes time, something on the order of 160 hours from when you have all the parts to the day you finish calibration. Although this system is designed for 2D flows, 3D flows are possible with more parts and cameras. In this version, I used water as the fluid to visualize, however gas flows are possible with a different configuration.
